Malaysian company Melewar Industrial Group and the Union of Russian Grain Exporters have signed a memorandum of understanding aimed at securing long-term supplies to Malaysia, Russian Ambassador to Malaysia Ratpov said at a ceremony for the signing of the document.

Ratpov noted that the memorandum of understanding is another manifestation of the two countries' commitment to the development of bilateral cooperation.

It is an initiative under the Malaysian government's plan of action in the area of strengthening national food security.
