According to the Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ), on November 11, 2024, FSANZ issued Notice 316-24, Application No. A1318, Application for Approval of Enzymatic Conversion for the Production of Steviol Glycosides (Lebodioside M) Using Enzymes Produced by Genetically Modified E. coli BL21, which is an application for approval of the use of enzymes produced by genetically modified Escherichia coli BL21, for the production of Steviol Glycosides (Rebaudioside M).
