GACC Announcement No. 178 of 2024 (Announcement on the Inspection and Quarantine Requirements of Peruvian Pecan Fruit exported to China)

On December 2, 2024, the General Administration of Customs of China (GACC) issued Announcement No. 178 of 2024, announcing that from now on, the import of Peruvian pecan fruits that meet the relevant requirements will be allowed.

 

The permitted import of Peruvian pecan refers to nuts available for human consumption with or without shelled made in Peru by selecting and drying the mature fruits of Carya illinoinensis planted in Peru.

 

Production enterprises exporting Pecan fruit from Peru shall ensure that the products exported to China comply with the relevant laws and regulations of food safety and plant quarantine of China and the national standards of food safety of China. The production, processing and storage units of the fruit exported from Peru should be recommended by the secret Recipe and registered by the GACC.

 

At the same time, the announcement also details the relevant requirements for imports, including production requirements, packaging and labeling requirements, and entry inspection and quarantine requirements.
