On November 29, 2024, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) issued a notice of investigation of a Salmonella outbreak associated with cucumbers.
The outbreak is known to have resulted in 68 Salmonella infections in 19 states, and 18 people have been hospitalized. Interviews with patients and tracebacks revealed that Agrotato, S.A. de C.V . in Sonora, Mexico, had been infected with Salmonella. Grown cucumbers, including those recalled by SunFed Produce, LLC, may have been contaminated with Salmonella, which made people sick.
