Unqualified foods came from 28 countries or regions. Products from Taiwan area, 18 batches, were the most, following with Ecuador, India and Brazil.
The foods refused for entry did not comply with China’s laws and regulations. The main reasons of rejection were: without required certificates or qualified documents (the most, 18 batches), illegal food label issue, animal diseases detected, microbial contamination, inconsistent of goods with documents, etc.
Unqualified cosmetics came from Japan (17 batches), South Korea (7 batches), France and Canada, 23 batches of which were rejected due to without required certificates or qualified documents.
The above mentioned unqualified foods and cosmetics had been returned or destroyed at ports, according to GAC.
