GACC | Rejected Imported Foods & Cosmetics in July 2020

According to the monthly notice of unqualified foods and cosmetics by GAC, 246 batches of imported foods and 12 batch of imported cosmetics were found unqualified and refused for entry in July 2020.

Unqualified foods came from 30 countries or regions. Products from Malaysia, 34 batches, were the most, following with Vietnam, Taiwan China and India.
The foods refused for entry did not comply with China’s laws and regulations. The main reasons of rejection were illegal food label issue (the most), unqualified sensory inspections, expiration of shelf life, detection of animal diseases and food additives issues, etc.

Statistics also show that Shanghai Port detected the largest number of unqualified foods, with 81 batches.

Unqualified cosmetic came from Switzerland, Australia and Italy, which were rejected due to expiration date, mildew on the product, failure to record the consignee and unqualified label.

The above-mentioned unqualified foods and cosmetics had been returned or destroyed at ports, according to GACC.
