On September 13, 2022, Ukraine plans to formulate hygienic requirements for the production and circulation of food of animal origin. The requirements specify hygienic requirements for the production and circulation of food of animal origin, such as meat products, fish products, gelatin, eggs and egg products. The requirements will take effect from the date of official promulgation. The requirements include:
(1) Definitions, terms and requirements for the production and circulation of food of animal origin;
(2) To regulate the production, slaughter, transportation, storage, preparation and handling of food of animal origin, including domestic, wild animals and aquatic organisms, meat products, fish products, eggs and egg products;
(3) The sanitary requirements for the production and circulation of food of animal origin approved by the requirements shall apply to food market operators who export or who have declared to the competent authorities that they are prepared for such export, effective from the date of the entry into force of this order;
(4) For all other operators of food markets, the sanitary requirements for the production and circulation of food of animal origin approved by the requirements shall apply three years after the termination or lifting of the martial law.
