On September 21, 2022, the Swedish National Food Agency published Regulation LIVSFS202:7, which amended its original regulation on contaminants in food (LIVSFS2012:3) and came into effect on October 1, 2022. The main revisions are as follows:
The original regulations add that meat or aquatic products smoked from wood or other plant materials can be sold in the Swedish market, and the limit of benzo [A] pyrene in the products(edible part) is 5.0μg/kg, and the limit of the sum of benzo [A] pyrene, benzo [A] anthracene and benzo [B] fluoranthene is 30μg/kg.
