The Chinese market has greatly increased the import of aquatic products from Vietnam

Data from Vietnam's Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development(Nafiqad) show that in the first nine months of 2022 alone, total exports of Vietnamese aquatic products to China increased by 85.2 percent year on year.

 

Vietnam exported about US $900 million of aquatic products in October 2022, bringing the total value of aquatic products exported in the first 10 months of this year to US $9.39 billion, up 32.7 percent year-on-year.

 

Among them, Tra (Pangasianodon hypophthalmus) exports amounted to about $183 million, bringing total Tra exports in the first 10 months of 2022 to $2.063 billion, up 76.5 percent year-on-year.

 

Exports of shrimp products reached about $444 million in October 2022, and total exports in the first 10 months of this year totaled $3.84 billion, up 20.3 percent year-on-year.

 

In the first nine months of 2022, Vietnam's exports of aquatic products to three major markets, namely the United States, Japan and China, accounted for 50.1 percent of its total aquatic products exports.

 

It can be seen that in the first nine months of 2022, the export value of Vietnamese aquatic products to almost all markets showed an upward trend except Russia (down 11%). Among them, the export value of Vietnamese aquatic products to China increased the most, reaching 85.2%.
