On 18 November 2022, the Ministry of Agriculture of Chile issued resolution 6320, setting out the sanitary requirements for animal oils and fats. Main Contents:

(1) The product must be accompanied by an official health certificate issued by the competent health authority of the country of origin, indicating the name of the manufacturer, the label of the product, the quantity and net weight, the lot number, the date of production and the shelf life, the name of the exporter and the consignee, and the identifier of the means of transport;

(2) The slaughterhouse of animal raw materials has been authorized by the health authority of the country of origin, the official veterinarian on site has conducted a premortem inspection in the slaughterhouse, the raw animals are free from infectious diseases, and the refining plant has been authorized and approved by the health authority of Chile;

(3) Production and processing requirements. Horse grease is processed at least 10 minutes at a minimum temperature of 90°C, pigs come from countries or regions officially recognized by the World Organization for Animal Health as free of African swine fever, and are born and raised in that country, heat treated for at least 30 minutes at a minimum temperature of 70°C; Poultry in a country, area or quarantine zone officially recognized by the World Organization for Animal Health (OIE) as free from Newcastle disease, grown in that country, area or quarantine zone for at least 21 days from birth to slaughter, with a temperature of at least 74°C and a heat treatment lasting 280 seconds; The mixture of several products requires heat treatment at 70°C for 30 minutes;

(4) Label requirements. The following information must be included: common name or trademark name, category of ingredients of animal origin, storage and marketing conditions, date of manufacture and shelf life, lot number, Department of Agriculture authorization code and date of imported product, name and address of manufacturing plant, name and address of importer, country of origin, name of additive, net content, etc. The resolution shall come into force on the date of promulgation.
