FSANZ issued Notice 223-22 which approved several applications

On December 19, 2022, Food Standards Australia and New Zealand (FSANZ) issued Notice 223-22, contents are as follows:


-Approved application A1251, allowing 2'-fucosyllactose (2'-FL ) in combination with galacto-oligosaccharides and inulin-type fructans in infant formula.


-Approved application No. A1224, allowing glucose oxidase from Penicillium to be used as a processing aid. It is reported that the glucose oxidase is used in the production of various foods and beverages.


-Approved the application No. A1221, allowing Phospholipase A1 from genetically modified Aspergillus niger to be used as a processing aid. It is reported that the Phospholipase A1 is used in the degumming process of vegetable oil and grease.


-Approved application No. A1220, allowing β-amylase from genetically modified Bacillus licheniformis to be used as a processing aid. According to the notification, the β-amylase is used in the starch processing for the production of maltose syrup.
