On January 5, 2022-28428, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) issued document 2022-28428 proposing to amend food additive regulations to approve the use of vitamin D3 as a nutrient supplement in breakfast bars, granola bars and rice cereal bars, according to the Federal Press.
FDA is taking this action in response to the petition filed by the Kellogg Company. The regulation takes effect on January 5, 2023, and objections should be filed by February 6, 2023.
