On January 21, 2023, the Australian Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry (DAFF) revised the import licensing conditions for some non-compound foods, including adding approved ingredients, which have lower biosafety, but retained the conditions for non-compound foods.

The changes to import conditions do not apply to import licenses issued before January 18, 2023. importers can apply to change an existing license, amend it to new conditions or apply for a new license. The updated Standard Non-Compound Food Permit applies to the following commodities: Cheese and Butter, Collagen, Finfish, Foie Gras, Japanese Beef, Pork, Salmon. This revision is implemented from the date of publication.
