MOSCOW, March 6 - Russia's poultry meat exports to China increased by 53 percent in 2022, the Agroexport under the Russian Ministry of Agriculture told SPUTNIK.
The volume of exports to China is 139,000 tons, an increase of 11 percent compared to 2021. China became the main exporter of Russian poultry products, with 39% of total Russian poultry meat exports by weight to China in 2022 and 41% in 2021.
Sergey Rakhchukhov, director general of the Russian State Union of Poultry Breeders, said that this is due to the expansion of poultry meat production in Russia in 2022 and the successful resolution of many problems related to transport restrictions.
The main exporters of Russian poultry products include Saudi Arabia, Kazakhstan, the United Arab Emirates, Belarus, Azerbaijan, Bahrain and African countries.
The volume of Russian meat products exports grew by 16% in 2022, and the value of exports grew by 51%. Since 2017, exports of poultry meat products have more than doubled in volume and increased 3.7 times in value.
