Moscow, March 13 (Sputnik) -- China became the second largest importer of agricultural products from India in 2022, according to a study by Russia's Agroexport Center.
China imported agricultural products worth $3.608 billion from India in 2022, up 15% compared to $3.126 billion in 2021.
In 2022, 7% of India's agricultural products were sold to China. China is second only to the US, which accounts for 10.5% of India's agricultural exports at $5,431.8 billion.
India's main exports to China are rice (20.8% of total exports), sugar (11.2%), crustacean aquatic products (9.4%), beef (6.1%) and wheat (4.2%).
According to the Agricultural Trade Promotion Center of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of China, China's import and export volume of agricultural products in 2022 was $334.32 billion, up 9.9% year on year. Among them, exports amounted to $98.26 billion, up 16.5%; imports amounted to $236.06 billion, up 7.4%; the trade deficit was $137.08 billion, up 1.7%.
