Since 2016, Chilean peach and plum exports to China have maintained a growth trend, with only a slight decline during the 2020/21 season due to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, starting from the 2021/22 season, exports to China have quickly rebounded, with exports of three main fruits - peaches, plums, and apricots - reaching 135,119 tons, an increase of approximately 3.5 times compared to 29,931 tons five years ago.

Currently, China has become the largest export destination for fresh Chilean peaches, plums, and apricots, far exceeding the second-ranked United States. As of the 10th week of this season, the export volume of fresh Chilean peaches, plums, and apricots to China is basically the same as the previous season, accounting for 49%, 41%, and 99% of the total export volume, respectively.

Every year, Chilean peaches and plums develop promotional themes based on the characteristics of different fruits and target consumer groups, such as targeting the light food group for apricots and sports enthusiasts for peaches.

This season, Chilean peaches and plums have mainly cooperated with three mainstream e-commerce platforms - Eleme, JD.com, and Tmall - to launch preferential subsidies and offline activities, directly reaching the target consumer groups. In terms of offline retail channels, Chilean peaches and plums have cooperated with Sam's Club, Walmart, Kai Shi Ke, and He Ma, and have jointly launched over 1,200 promotional activities in 43 stores. Consumers can also see Chilean peaches and plums prominently displayed on the shelves of many stores, such as Baiguoyuan and Green Leaf Fruit.

Chilean peaches and plums have a wide variety and a long supply period, which can last from the end of winter to the entire spring season. As China has become the main destination market for Chilean peaches and plums in Asia and even globally, the export volume of fresh Chilean peaches and plums to China is expected to continue to rise year after year.
