On May 11, the General Administration of Customs of China (GACC) issued Announcement No. 48 of 2023, announcing that from now on, it will allow the import of cooked pork products from France that meet the relevant requirements. Cooked pork products that are allowed to be imported refer to boneless pork products that are directly edible and made from pork as the main raw material after effective cooking processing confirmed by the Chinese side, including the following product categories:
1.Cooked ham;
2. Cooked sausages, including traditional types such as French "andouilles" (pig sausage), "andouillettes" (gut sausage), "boudins noirs" (pig blood sausage/black sausage), "boudins blancs" (white sausage) or "quenelles" (meatballs);
3. Bolognese products, such as French "rillettes" (cooked meat sauce), "galantines" (meat jelly) or "ballotines" (meatballs);
4. Cooked pork cubes, such as French roti (roast meat), jambonneau (roast thigh) or jarret (shank).
At the same time, the announcement also detailed the import requirements, including manufacturers, inspection and quarantine requirements, certificate requirements, packaging requirements, storage and transportation requirements.
