EAEU issued the standard requirements for animal residue limits in food of animal origin

Russian media alta.soft reported on June 26: The Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission passed the amendment to the Technical Regulations on Food Safety regarding the determination of the veterinary drug residue limit requirements in food of animal origin.


The amendment stipulates the residue limit requirements of 75 veterinary drugs (pharmacologically active substances) in processed and unprocessed food of animal origin, as well as the control requirements for residues of veterinary drugs that are not specified in technical regulations or registered in member countries-- the supervision of veterinary drug residues in imported products is of great significance.


The implementation of this amendment will improve the safety of food circulation within the Union, and help resolve objections and product import and export bans arising from different determination results of veterinary drug residues in food of animal origin by member states.
