Bangladesh's "Daily Star" reported on July 27 that on July 26, Shafie Kuzaman, director general of the Bangladesh National Consumer Rights Protection Department (DNCRP), was in a seminar on the consumer rights protection law and the current rise in prices of necessities. A speech was delivered at the meeting, saying that the government will ban the sale of bulk soybean oil from August 1 to ensure sufficient supply in the market and prevent adulteration in the market. The ban was originally scheduled to be implemented in early January this year, but was delayed due to market turmoil at home and abroad.
