Australia revised infant formula product standards

On August 24, 2023, the Australian Federal Register website published notice F2023C00749 to revise the infant formula product standards. The main contents are as follows:


(1) Product definition of infant formula milk powder.


(2) General composition requirements. Add only inulin-type fructans - no more than 110mg/100kJ; add only galacto-oligosaccharides - no more than 290mg/100kJ; add two kinds together, inulin-type fructans should not exceed 110mg/100kJ, The combined content of inulin-type fructans and galactooligosaccharides does not exceed 290mg/100kJ; must not contain gluten; the content of nucleotide-5'-monophosphate does not exceed 3.8mg/100kJ; aluminum: formula for premature infants Milk powder should not exceed 0.02mg/100ml, and soy formula milk powder should not exceed 0.1mg/100ml; energy, protein, fat, vitamins, and mineral contents are specified.


(3) Labeling and packaging requirements. Warning Statement: For concentrated infant formula products, do not change the concentrate ratio unless directed by your doctor. Nutritional information statement, etc.; prohibited label content: photos of babies, any words with similar maternal effects, etc.
