GACC Announcement No. 119 of 2023 (Announcement on Plant Quarantine Requirements for Fresh Coconut Imported from Cambodia)

On September 18, the General Administration of Customs of China (GACC) issued Notice No. 119 of 2023, announcing that from now on, fresh coconut imports from Cambodia that meet the relevant requirements will be allowed.

 

The orchards and packaging plants shall be reviewed and filed with the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries of the Kingdom of Cambodia (hereinafter referred to as the Cambodian side), and approved for registration by the General Administration of Customs of the People's Republic of China (hereinafter referred to as the Chinese side). The registration information should include name, address and registration number for accurate traceability in the event that the export goods do not comply with relevant regulations. Before the annual export season, the Cambodian side shall provide the registration list to the Chinese side, which will be published on the website of the General Administration of Customs after China's examination and approval.

 

At the same time, the announcement also detailed the relevant requirements for imports, including packaging requirements, plant quarantine certificate requirements.
