On September 19, 2023, the European Commission published a consultation document to amend the regulations on the use of food additives. The main content is the proposed approval of magnesium citrate (Trimagnesium dicitrate, E345 (i)) for use in solid food supplements (other than infant food products), with a maximum addition of 10,00mg /kg.

The revised comment period ends Nov. 21.
