Announcement of the National Health Commission on Peach Gum and other 15 kinds of Three New Food

On October 7, the official government website released the announcement of the National Health Commission (NHC) on 15 kinds of "Three New Foods" such as peach pectin, which said: According to the provisions of the Food Safety Law of the People's Republic of China, the reviewing body organised experts to review the application of peach pectin and other four substances for new food raw materials, and the application of serine protease and other six substances for new varieties of food additives, C.I. Pigment Black 7 and 5 other substances applied for new varieties of food-related products, the safety assessment materials were reviewed and passed.


The four new food ingredients referred to in the announcement are: peach gum, oil salsa bean, Streptomyces intestinalis lactis subspecies, and pyrroloquinoline quinone disodium salt; and the six new varieties of food additives are: serine protease, magnesium lactate, 2'-fucose lactose, lactulose-N-tetrasaccharide, calcium lactate, and trizan gum.
