GACC Announcement No. 128 of 2023 (Announcement on Inspection and Quarantine Requirements for the Import of Finnish Malt)

On 9 October, the General Administration of Customs of China (GACC) issued Announcement No. 128 of 2023, announcing that with immediate effect, the import of Finnish malt meeting the relevant requirements is permitted.

 

Malt exported from Finland to China refers to malt made from the ripe fruits of barley (Hordeum vulgare L.), wheat (Triticum aestivum L.), rye (Secale cereale L.) and oats (Avena sativa L.) grown in Finland, and made in Finland through the process of germination, drying and other processes, and used only for food consumption or food processing. Food processing products.

 

Finnish malt producers and processors are responsible for ensuring that their malt exports to China comply with Chinese food safety and phytosanitary laws and regulations as well as Chinese national food safety standards. The production, processing and storage units of malt exported to China are recommended by the Finnish Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry and registered by the General Administration of Customs of the People's Republic of China.

 

At the same time, the announcement also lists in detail the relevant requirements that need to be met for importation, including phytosanitary requirements, production requirements, packaging requirements and so on.
