South Korea announced enhanced tests for pathogenic bacteria in large fish such as tuna

On November 1, 2023, the Ministry of Food and Drug of Korea (MFDS) announced the strengthening of pathogen detection for large fish such as tuna. The main contents are as follows: Objects of inspection: raw food (sashimi) products of tuna (except bluefin tuna) and white fish; Check items: 6 kinds of pathogenic bacteria in food (Salmonella, Listeria, Staphylococcus aureus, Vibrio parahaemolyticus, Vibrio cholerae, Vibrio pneumoniae); Inspection time: 2023.10.30~2023.12.31 (based on the date of shipment).
