In late October, the American Shrimp Processors Association (ASPA) filed a trade petition seeking to impose anti-dumping duties on frozen warm water shrimp imported from Ecuador and Indonesia, and countervailing duties on shrimp imported from Ecuador, India, Indonesia and Vietnam.

The U.S. International Trade Administration announced in a notice published in the Federal Register on November 21 that it has opened a countervailing duty investigation into frozen warm water shrimp native to Ecuador, India, Indonesia, and Vietnam: the investigation period is January 1, 2022 to December 21, 2022.

The U.S. International Trade Administration also issued a bulletin titled "Frozen Warm Water Shrimp from Ecuador and Indonesia: Initiation of a Below Fair Value Investigation." The notice states that the investigation period for shrimp imports from Ecuador and Indonesia is from October 1, 2022 to September 30, 2023.
