On 16 January 2024, the Dutch Food and Consumer Product Safety Authority (NVWA) published the import Inspection Workbook. The manual is a workbook for the entire import inspection sector in the Netherlands and is a merger of three existing documents, including the Border Control Posts (Veterinary) and Warehouses Workbook, the Fish Certification Workbook and the imported other workbooks.

The workbook describes all matters applicable to the import inspection sector as a whole, with specific matters contained in annexes to each workflow, which contain reference tables applicable to certification. The manual combines the NVWA inspection procedures with the work procedures of the import Inspection Department and applies to the scope of work relating to official controls at the Dutch border control posts (GCPs), veterinary and non-veterinary import controls, bonded warehouses, inbound inspections of frozen fish products, and certification of fish exports.

The entry into force date of the manual is 16 January 2024.
