UK proposed to set requirements for the use of a number of food additives, including barley rice protein

On 2 February 2024, the UK Food Standards Agency (FSA) published a consultation paper proposing to establish requirements for the use of four food products, including barley rice protein, and three food additives, including polyglycerol polyricinoleate, and labelling requirements for food products containing them; and proposing to delete furoyl-2-butyraldehyde, allyl 2-furoate, and other substances from the list of 22 previously approved flavourings. The details are shown in the table below. The comment period is open until 29 March 2024.
