On 8 March 2024, the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) issued a recall notice that a frozen fish ball is being recalled in Canada because the product contains an undeclared allergen (egg) on the label. Information on the recalled product is listed below:

The name of the recalled product is Star Fresh brand frozen fish ball, weight 200 g, UPC code 8 851081 918157, shelf life until 25 October 2025. The product has been distributed in ontario and Quebec.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency is advising consumers not to consume the recalled products, to check if they have any of the recalled products in their homes, and if so, to discard or return them to the shop of purchase.
