GACC Announcement No. 54 of 2024 (Announcement on Phytosanitary requirements for the Import of Fresh cherry from Hungary)

On April 29, 2024, the General Administration of Customs of China (GACC) issued Announcement No. 54 of 2024, announcing that from now on, Hungarian fresh cherries that meet the relevant requirements will be allowed to import.

 

Cherry orchards, packaging plants, cold storage and cold treatment facilities exported to China shall be reviewed and filed by the competent authority under the supervision of the Hungarian Ministry of Agriculture (hereinafter referred to as the Hungarian side), and approved for registration by the General Administration of Customs of the People's Republic of China (hereinafter referred to as the Chinese side). The registration information shall include name, address and registration number, etc., in order to accurately trace the export goods when they do not comply with the relevant provisions of this announcement. The registration list shall be provided to the Chinese side by the Hungarian Ministry of Agriculture before the annual export season.

 

At the same time, the announcement also detailed the relevant requirements for imports, including packaging requirements, plant quarantine certificate requirements.
