On June 11, the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS) of the Republic of Korea issued Notice No. 2024-23, amending parts of the Content Standards for Inappropriate Labeling or Advertising of Food Products, etc., with the following key points:
1. Expanded the scope of the list of food names similar to prescription names of Korean medicines that may be considered as medicines.
2. Prohibited the use of the name or content of Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) or Cannabidiol (CBD), etc. for labeling, advertising, etc. on food products.
