On July 15, 2024, the National Institute of Viticulture of Argentina (INV) issued Resolution No. 25/2024, which establishes a standard for natural sweet wines, to be implemented as of the date of issuance. Main contents:
(1) Natural sweet wine is a product obtained by partial fermentation of freshly ripened grapes or fresh grape juice, with an alcohol content of ≥5% and reducing sugars of ≥20g/l; the maximum use of sulfur dioxide is 250mg/I;
(2) The name "NATURAL SWEET WINE" must be indicated on the label.
