According to Argentinian media, the first batch of pork contract for export to China was signed recently. 18 companies in Argentina are planning to export pork, with a weight of about 300 tons, to China.
Argentina and China signed a bilateral agreement for pork export in April last year. At present, China is suffering from the impact of African swine fever. It is expected that China will import 4.7 million tons of pork to alleviate the current shortage of pork. The total amount of pork exported to China from Argentina could exceed 18,000 tons in 2019, predicted by local media.
The first batch of pork exported to China will be shipped in August this year.
