Summary | 38 Batches of Unqualified Foods in August, 2019


According to the sampling information published by the State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR) in August, Global Foodmate has summarised that SAMR published
4 notices on food sampling and unveiled 38 batches of unqualified foods in August, 2019.  

The unqualified food involved health food, biscuits, honey, meat, infant formula and others, 12 categories in total. Among which, edible agricultural products was found to be the Top 1 unqualified food category (17 batches).

According to the statistics, the
major unqualified item was excessive residues of pesticides and veterinary drugs, involving 19 batches of food, which accounted for approximately 50% of the total unqualified foods. Other unqualified items were excessive use of food additives, microbial contamination, etc.


In addition, 12 batches of unqualified food were found to be sold online, on 3 online platforms: Taobao (4 batches), Tmall (3 batches) and JD (5 batches). The rest 26 batches were found to be sold offline.
