Recently, the Philippines notified the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE) that an H5N6 highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) outbreak occurred in its territory.
In order to continuously protect the safety of China's animal husbandry and to prevent the introduction of epidemics, the warning notice is issued in accordance with relevant laws and regulations such as Customs Law of the People's Republic of China and Entry and Exit Animal and Plant Quarantine Law of the People's Republic of China.
According to the notice, China strictly prohibit the direct or indirect importation of poultry and its related products from the Philippines. Poultry and its products found in consignments and goods carried by passengers from the Philippines will be returned or destroyed.
In addition, the Customs will also intensify the quarantine inspection of incoming ships, aircrafts, vehicles and railway trains.
