China approved the export of Xinjiang pears to US

The General Administration of Customs issued an announcement to allow pears from Korla and Aksu region, Xinjiang that meet the required requirements to be exported to US ([2020] No.52) since April 7, 2020. Related inspection and quarantine requirements can be found on the website of GACC or contact us for consultation. 

 
 

Preventing the introduction of African Swine Fever from Papua New Guinea


On April 1, 2020, the World Organization for Animal Health (OIE) notified that four African swine fevers occurred in the Southern Highlands of Papua New Guinea. This is the first African swine fever outbreak in Papua New Guinea.

In order to protect the safety of animal husbandry in China and to prevent the introduction of epidemic, according to the Customs Law of the People's Republic of China, Law of the People's Republic of China on Entry and Exit Animal and Plant Quarantine and its implementation regulations and other relevant laws and regulations, on April 3, 2020, the General Administration of Customs and the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs jointly issued the Announcement No. 51 of 2020, which stipulates the relevant requirements for preventing the introduction of the epidemic into China.
 

 
6 National Food Safety Standards are looking for public opinions


According to the Food Safety Law and its implementation regulations, the National Food Safety Standard Review Committee of National Health Commission publicly solicited opinions on 6 national food safety standards, including "National Food Safety Standard Milk Powder" (Draft). The deadline for soliciting comments is June 3, 2020.
