On September 14, the Korean Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS) issued Announcement No. 2020-398, amending part of the "Countries or Regions Allowed to im
port Livestock Products": Due to the occurrence of African Swine Fever (ASF) in Germany Case, the South Korean government decided to ban the im
port of German pork and processed products.
Besides South Korea, Singapore has imposed a suspension on the im
port of pork and pork products from Germany with effect from 10 September 2020. Moreover, on September 12, the General Administration of Customs issued a notice on preventing the introduction of German African swine fever into China, which will be implemented as of the date of publication.
