Japan revises "Specifications and Standards for Food, Additives, etc." (Pesticide and Veterinary Drug Residues)

On May 27, the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare of Japan issued Notice No. 1 of 0527, which made partial amendments to the "Specifications and Standards for Foods, Additives, etc.". This time, the main revisions have been made to the residue limits of some pesticides and veterinary drugs in foods: ethaboxam, oxfendazole, febantyre and fenbendazole, Tioxazafen (ISO) and fenbendazole.

The notice has been implemented since the date of issuance, but the limits of pesticide and veterinary drug residues in some foods can still be applied to previous regulations within one year from the date of this notice.
