Thailand plans to revise the jam and jelly standard

 
On August 31, 2021, Thai Food Management Service is proposing to revise jam and jelly standard. The main revisions are:

(1) Revise product definitions such as jam and jelly;

(2) Quality standards for various jam and jelly products. It has certain flavor characteristics, solid content, acidity requirements, and mixed jam content requirements for a variety of fruits;

(3) Microbial hygiene indicators: requirements for coliforms, yeasts and molds;

(4) Requirements for additive addition. No use of sweeteners;

(5) Production process control requirements;

(6) Packaging container and label requirements. The content and identification method to be displayed in the label;

(7) Transitional regulations.

The jams, jellies and their manufacturers and importers that have been authorized before the publication of this standard are allowed to be sold, and the transition period shall not exceed two years. The feedback period for this standard is September 30, 2021.
