On November 1, 2021, the General Administration of Customs of China issued Announcement No. 87, Announcement on the issuance of the "Administrative Measures for Export Food Production Enterprises to Apply for Overseas Registration" (Hereinafter referred to as Measures).

The Measures clarified the conditions for re-registering, which including relocation of the factory, the scope of the product changes and the competent authority of the importing country (region) requires re-registration and other situations where the competent authority of the registered country (region) requires re-registration.

The export food production enterprises mentioned in these Measures do not include the production, processing and storage enterprises of export food additives and food-related products.

The Measures will come into effect on January 1, 2022.
