Indonesia Intends to Revise Food Import Control Regulations
On November 9, 2021, the Indonesian Food and Drug Administration plans to amend the Food import Control Regulations, and the feedback period will end on November 15. The main revisions are:
(1) In order to promote the flow of goods (customs clearance and cargo release) within the framework of Indonesia's national single window, it is necessary to improve the regulations on the control of food imports;
(2) Foods that can be imported into Indonesia for circulation must have a circulation license and meet the requirements of laws and regulations, and the importer must import within 7 days of issuance of the license;
(3) The shelf life of food imported into Indonesia is at least 9 months;
(4) The application for imported food certificate must be done online, and the food imported in bulk must be accompanied by a test certificate issued by the manufacturer or accredited laboratory;
(5) For imported processed food, the record label must be uploaded. If the exporter is different from the manufacturer, the certificate from the manufacturer in the country of origin must be uploaded.
