The Indonesian Agricultural Inspection and Quarantine Agency has issued a notice to raise awareness of highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) in the Philippines.  In order to prevent the HPAI from entering Indonesia, the notice asked various working teams of the Agricultural Quarantine Agency, local quarantine agencies and border stations to reject the import of poultry and poultry products from the Philippines.

According to the notice, 10 samples from 2,730 ducks imported from the Philippines were tested positive for the H5N1 using reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) on March 24, 2022.  20 samples from 652 Philippine ducks tested positive for H5N1 on 28 March 2022.
