Norway revised regulations on alcoholic beverages

On 3 May 2022, the Norwegian Ministry of Agriculture and Food issued an announcement amending regulations on alcoholic beverages. Main contents :

(1) Name of alcoholic beverage. In case of one or more legal/geographical names specified in the category of alcoholic beverages, except for compound names, one of the names shall be indicated;

(2) It is prohibited to use descriptions of beverage names that do not meet the requirements of the relevant category in Appendix I or the relevant geographical names, or to use names in combination with "art", "taste" or other similar words or phrases;

 

(3) The list of alcoholic ingredients in mixed alcoholic drinks shall be indicated on the same label as the legal name of the mixture, with uniform characters of the same type and color, and the font size shall not be larger than half of the font used for the legal name; The percentage of each alcohol ingredient on the alcohol ingredient list should be shown in descending order of percentage used.

 

The revision will take effect on May 2, 2022.
