On 16 May 2022, the European Commission published on its website consultation paper Ref.ares (2022) 3693645, proposing to amend regulation (EU) 2015/1375 (the Official Control Regulation on Trichinella in meat).  The main contents of the amendments are as follows :

(1) It is allowed to further divide pig carcasses into 6 or more parts before the results of post-mortem inspection of trichinella is done;  

(2) Updated the Trichinella reference detection method of pork product . 

The feedback period of the revision is until June 13, 2022.
