On June 28, 2023, the Singapore Food Agency (SFA) issued a notice that Singapore Customs, in cooperation with the National Parks Board (NParks) and SFA, implemented the Electronic Sanitary and Phytosanitary Certificate (e-SPS) Enquiry Service on the Network Trading Platform (NTP). The main contents are:

1. From June 28, 2023, traders and their authorized declaration agents can electronically search for electronic SPS issued by overseas competent authorities through the electronic SPS inquiry service. Traders no longer need to wait for a hard copy of the SPS to be couriered to them from overseas. This minimizes the risk of certificates being delayed or lost, as well as forged certificates;

2. In order to allow their customs brokers to retrieve their electronic SPS details, traders must inform Singapore Customs of their customs brokers. To retrieve their e-SPS details, traders and their Authorized DAs must log on to www.ntp.gov.sg > Government Services > International Connection Management > e-SPS Advisory Service;

3. The current query service starts with the trial operation of meat and meat products imported from Australia for human consumption. The e-SPS query service will be gradually launched. The query service allows traders and their authorized DAs who import related commodities from overseas to use the online trading platform ( NTP) searches for sanitary and phytosanitary certificates issued by competent authorities.
