On July 10th, the General Administration of Customs of China (GACC) issued Announcement No. 87 of 2023, declaring that the importation of Polish beef meeting the relevant requirements is allowed with immediate effect.
The permitted Polish beef for import refers to boneless beef, suitable for consumption, of cattle aged below 30 months, which has been slaughtered and bled, with the removal of hair, viscera, head, tail, and limbs (below the carpus and tarsus), from the skeletal muscles.
Cheek muscle, head muscle, diaphragm muscle, minced meat, meat paste, ground meat, lower-value cuts, mechanically separated meat, and bovine by-products are not allowed for import. The ileocecal end, thymus gland, spleen, tonsils, skull including the brain and eyes, trigeminal ganglion, spinal cord, and spinal column including the dorsal root ganglia must be removed.
Additionally, the announcement also specifies the relevant requirements that imports must comply with, including requirements for production enterprises, inspection and quarantine, packaging, storage, transportation, and more.
