Singapore has imposed temporary import restrictions on poultry products from bird flu affected areas in the United States

On August 24, 2023, the Singapore Food Authority (SFA) announced the suspension of imports of poultry and its products from the vicinity of the highly pathogenic avian influenza outbreak in the United States.

 

Due to an outbreak of highly pathogenic avian influenza H5N1 in Kings County, New York, USA, Singapore will impose temporary restrictions on the import of poultry and its products within 10 km of the affected area. Poultry products heat-treated in accordance with the World Organization for Animal Health (WOAH) requirements for the inactivation of avian influenza viruses will not be affected by import restrictions.

 

Poultry products exported from Kings County, New York before July 25, 2023, and killed before July 11, 2023, will continue to be accepted for import.
