GACC Announcement No. 57 of 2024 (Announcement on Inspection and Quarantine Requirements for the Export of Dried Plums from Serbia to China)

On May 11, 2024, the General Administration of Customs of China (GACC) issued Announcement No. 57 of 2024, announcing that from now on, the import of Serbian dried plums that meet the relevant requirements will be allowed.

 

The Serbian dried plums that are allowed to be imported are plum pulp made from the mature fruit of the European plum (Prunus domestica L.) grown in Serbia and prepared in Serbia for human consumption after dehydration, rehydration, pitting, preservation, etc.

 

Serbian dried plum manufacturers shall ensure that their prunes exported to China comply with China's food safety and phytosanitary laws and regulations as well as China's national food safety standards. The production, processing and storage units of prunes exported to China shall be recommended by the Serbian side and registered by the Chinese side.

 

At the same time, the announcement also details the relevant requirements for imports, including processing requirements, packaging requirements, transportation requirements, etc.
