From SeafoodMedia on June 12, Vietnam has become the second largest supplier of canned tuna to the US after Thailand.

Vietnam's exports of canned tuna to the US exceeded US$10 million in April this year, up 127% year-on-year, with cumulative exports exceeding US$38 million in January-April, up 102% year-on-year, and up 25% over the same period in 2022.

In the first quarter, the United States canned tuna imports of only 33,000 tons, due to the United States to reduce the amount of purchases from Thailand, a drop of 9%, Thailand tuna in the first quarter of the export price of $ 4,422 per ton.

Mexican canned tuna exports to the United States increased during the first quarter, with an average price of $4,735 per ton.
