The United States revised its trade specification for Frozen Seafood from the Pacific

 
On July 7, 2022, the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) issued revised trade specifications for Frozen Seafood from the Pacific.  This standard specified the terms and definitions, specifications, raw materials, production and processing methods, metal detection, freezing status, packaging and storage, labeling, product quality assurance and other requirements related to Pacific grouper (sea bass) fillets, Pacific whitefish fillets, Pacific pink shrimp.  
Major amendments include: Regarding specifications, Pacific grouper fillet should weigh 2.0 ounces to 7.0 ounces and Pacific cod fillet should weigh 3.0 ounces to 7.0 ounces.  Transport containers shall be sealed by strapping, tape or gluing.  When strapping is used, the initial seal (usually the bottom of the container) should be secured by gluing or tape.  With regard to product labeling, the label on 2-pound packages should include at least one color except black and white, excluding package color.
